Govexec.com carried a story on March 3, 2005 saying the federal office charged with investigating whistleblower complaints is itself target of a complaint alleging retaliation against its own staff who complained about office policies. Is it any wonder Defense workers are concerned the changes contemplated in their personnel system might make it easy to get around merit principles and veterans preference and scale back due process? Just saying it ain't so, doesn't mean the fox isn't eyeing the hen house. Look inside! You will find some of the same officials writing and approving the new policies are themselves seen by their own staffs as engaging in cronyism.
