The United States was based on freedom, governed for the people, by the people. Not by a dictator. NSPS takes the freedoms and rights from the people. I thought this great country was based on freedom and the rights of the people. Why did our great grandfathers, grandfathers, fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters die for these freedoms and protecting the rights of all people? Why are we at War now? I feel we have a dictator who is trying to take these rights away from the American people who died and fought for this great Country. How can I plan out my future with no security in my job working for the Federal Government under NSPS? Under this new system you can be let go any time. And forget trying to appeal it. Subpart C Pay, Sections 9901.301 to 9901.373 No more step increases. How can I plan for the future? Raising a family, purchasing a new home, car, and retirement? With the current pay scale I would know where my finances will be and could plan for the future. With the pay band, I could be at the top and that would be it. I would be stuck or even better dropped to the next lower band. No more Annual cost of living increases. There might be a periodical increase as they see fit? With the rising cost of property taxes, city, the whole gambit, gas, and taxes in general. I look forward to that increase every year. Which helps me put back into the economy. Subpart D Performance Management: 9901.401 to 9901.409 Letting my wages be decided by a supervisor? What if your supervisor does not like you? There are some very poor supervisors out there too. What if my fellow co-worker has worked under the same supervisor for years, or they are good friends. There goes my increase in pay. The supervisors are not going to end that friend they are human. Also, what if I have an accident on the job? I loose time from work and my supervisor notes that and holds it against me. There went my increase for that year or depending on the supervisor I get fired. I also see a lot of back stabbing among co-workers. Why would I want to share my ideas that might make some else perform better? It’s my family that I have to feed. Subpart F: Reductions in Force: 9901.607 With all my years and contributions to the government and all my great ratings won’t mean a thing, if they want to get rid of me. Especially, if I’m getting close to retirement. Why not? That’s what most companies are doing now. It saves them money and they don’t have to pay your full retirement. I do agree that the system needs to be looked at, but why not ask for input from the people who are currently in the system. Wouldn’t that be by the people for the people? NSPS is not the solution.
