My concerns are with the recent hires that are retired military, (AKA double dippers). Currently they are in a lower retention group and the first to be RIF’d since they already have a federal retirement. Under the new system these people have the potential to stay while the employees with many years of civil service would get RIF’d, which is absolutely wrong. Most of these double dippers are Chiefs, Seniors, or Master Sergeants that were given a nice position from their former military colleagues. I have seen these people create positions that they just so happen to retire and fall right into. The NSPS will further help to abuse and harm the governments assets, which are the reliable employees that have stuck it out for over 20 years; most of these double dipper military retirees are not going to work that many years since they already have one retirement. The American public is who loses in the end by this greed and corruptness.
