I firmly believe that NSPS has nothing to do with National Security or Saving Money. It's main focus is busting up employee based unions. If NSPS is passed it will take away rights and benefits that U.S. workers have taken decades to achieve and will not only erode the U.S.'s economic base, but weaken the United States Dept. of Defense. The U.S. has gained and maintains it's strength in conjunction with a strong and well trained military force. We have always been willing to sacrifice Guns for Butter because a strong military keeps possible adversaries at bay. But if NSPS passes our defense will be put out to the lowest bidder. We will be putting our nation's security in the hands of private industry and private contractors, whose only allegience is to their shareholders. The bottom line will be profits, what's good for the contractor not what's good for our security. I don't want to see that happen. I work in the DoD System and I know, first hand, that the system needs to be fixed, or adjusted, to combat the current crisis we are facing from foreign combatants. I don't know of anyone more willing to bend or work within the system to make it better than myself and my fellow DoD workers. Being a Veteran, as many of my co-workers are, I can assure everyone that when I accomplish my job, or task, my first concern is the soldier, sailor, airman or marine that my labor supports. They are the first, the final and the ultimate customer. I accomplish my job with them and their safety and survival as my ultimate concern. I served in the miltary in the mid-70's and I know what it's like to try and accomplish my mission without 100 percent support. It wasn't a very good feeling. I don't want our current military men & women to ever feel that way. I urge you to reject NSPS in it's entirety. The current system is not beyond repair. As I was always told in school, that the U.S. is a dynamic system of governing and will always bend, but never break, to accomplish our goals. Let's work within the current system to find the solutions we are looking for. Afterall, you don't cut off your nose to spite your face? Do you? Work within the system. Don't implement NSPS!
