I don't have references, subparts, sections and numbers to support my comments, just twenty-four years of Department of Defense employment and pride to be of service to my country. I feel that this new system is another way to disenfranchise the poor working federal employee once again. We don't have to worry about terrorist taking this country down. We as Americans are doing a pretty good job of that all by ourselves. We take from the lowest levels and then wonder why they don't fair well. When will we learn to be proactive in closing the financial divide in this country? Before we send trillions of dollars to other countries? When will we respect our OWN and take care of our own??? Before we show solidarity,respect and care for other countries. When will we support the workers, and former senior workers, of this Nation we call GREAT? Before we bolster the needs of other countries. I was always taught that charity begins at HOME... looks like to me, we are beginning to think just the opposite. And yet whenever we have truly needed any type of assistance other countries are always slow to respond if at all. This war is a good example of that, Let me be the first to say I SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, my job here in DOD is to ensure their safety and the preservation of their lives, and I do that with Honor! But other countries, they come as long as there is no true great sacrifice, but when that begins to happen they go HOME and leave us to handle things. What will it take us to begin to learn from our past and present lessons? This NSPS is a prime example of what we think about our OWN... which amounts to very little, you can't keep short-changing the very people who hold the framework of this country together and then expect our Nation to STAND!!! And oh, by the way, to stand UNITED?? Please get a grip on reality! I pray that the voice of our Great Heritage will rise up within DOD and OPM and compel them to remember that a Nation divided against itself will Fall. And I hope that they will not make this subjective, whimsical, and servitude, perversion of human resourcing, legal for this Nation we now call Great. Passing this into law may soon cause this Nation to be just a fond memory. As we tear it down, precept by precept. And it will be of our own doing, not some external terrorist country.
