Everything that I have read on this subject of converting the DOD to the NSPS system for the workers seems to do nothing more than take away the rights of the workers and in return gives them nothing. The one most notable item in the NSPS system is I. I’m to understand that national security is a singular or “I” function. I can get ahead if “I” get rated the highest, if “I” can out do everyone else in my area I get more money. I am the only support that the war fighter needs! Wrong! Team work in the field of national security is the only option that will work to protect our nation and support the war fighter. This will take a team effort to defeat our enemies. Do we really think that in a system that promotes “I” instead of team is a more effective weapon in our protecting of our national security? I think not. The following examples will make us more secure; DOD labor relations supersede all other local collective bargaining. NSPS is not limited to the laws/rights given under Title 5 when implementing regulation changes, a blank check to do as they please. A person could be down graded with the possibility of a 10% cut in their pay at the hands of the manager, at the managers fancy. MSPB’s rulings could be overruled by the NSPS in the name of national security, what is national security? As proud American people, we will endure. The system and laws that are now in place have always served us well. These laws where written by great Americans for great Americans. All the checks and balances are in place to protect everyone, which is the way our great system works. I truly believe the checks and balances that where set by our forefathers into our great system will always work. When I see a system that has supreme control over anything that affects it and can over rule anything it wants, tells me this is not what our forefathers would have wanted. I want to be treated fair and equitably. All our rights and laws are being cast aside in the name of national security does not give me a good feeling as an American. What happened to the land of the free and the home of the brave? A few modifications to the current laws would have accomplished the same things
