In my opinion, the NSPS system going into effect is the results from DoD and government overspending. I feel that the DoD has problems in retaining it's millitary personnel on active dute and reinlisting in millitary service. For political reasons the draft is no longer used, however, the new NSPS system is a civillian workforce draft, that does not require physicals, but changes the existing rules and regulations to weed out the civillians they do not need. Aftger reading the new proposed NSPS system, it is clear that the DoD is not trying to get rid of teh union, AFGE, however, as a cost cutting measure are changeing the rules so the union is no longer an effective tool that protects its civillian workforce(removing its teeth). My top five reasons why I think the DoD's NSPS system will work: 5. The DoD will save a lot of money through reduction in the civillian workfoce. 4. Loose a lot of civillian experience that trains millitary personnel. 3. It will eliminate the attitude that we are all working and thinking together, (everyone for himself). 2. Less stress, won't have to pass on my experience to fellow workers that want my jop or pay raise because job security got replaced with pay for perfomance. 1 Benifits I will be looking foward to my reinlistment bonus, and two honorabel discharges. There is a difference between civillian and millitary thinking, if the DoD loses that difference, we can all look foward to being like the heard of elk that ran off the cliff because thats what the leader did. I suggest the NSPS system be re evaluated on how this system improves on the current system in place.
