Slowly but surely, civil service personnel are being pushed out to extiction. Base closures, consolidations, RIFs, A-76 studies, MEOs, outsourcing, automation... all has taken its toll. We have more contract personnel in our organization now but that doesn't seem to be working fast enough. Now the NSPS, finally breaking whatever is left that keeps the system working inspite of all the changes. Is the private sector really prepared to take over the fuctions that we do now? Why the charade? Why not just tell us the truth and plan for the transition? How about the displaced workers? Who is looking after our welfare?
