Setting and Communicating Performance Expectations pg 7562 Representation Rights and Duties pg 7571 Preformance Based Pay pg 7560 This new system is a real concern for alot of people especially when it comes to the buddy system that has been the way the base has run for so many years. If you aren't a friend of the boss or a neighbor then you go no where. I am very concerned about the management being able to say what an employee is worth because if you have a boss that has a problem with you then of course you will get the bad appraisals and they can lower your pay or if they feel like getting rid of you then by all means, let fire them. I am aware that people say "well it isn't like that" but in real life it is and I have seen it in my building. If you aren't in the in crowd then you go no where. It really concerns me that we have not been told about this NSPS until about 2 weeks ago and having comments now isn't going to help us at all. Also, I have a real concern about our union reps being done away with. They have been the only ones to help us, EEO has never been anygood unless you are a minority. White people aren't good enough and never have a leg to stand on. I really feel that the union should be allowed to continue and that they also be able to represent us when it comes to management. The world isn't just black and white and doesn't go like Congress and higher up's think it does. You should try being a single parent, or widowed and try making ends meet especially when you work for men or women who operate on the buddy system only. It really does exist in the world and it will sure take alot of action from management to change alot of peoples minds. I really feel that alot of people's jobs will be lost even though they do perform because of the buddy system. Not a good thing in my eyes and when they get to decide our pay, and we have no recourse especially when you get rid of the union, well I feel as though Capital Hill has just taken over the world and we really don't live in a free country anymore.
