Bringing this to the public’s attention now for comments is like the old adage of “Closing the corral gate after the horse is out”. This request for comments / input should have been presented prior to the proposal being passed through the House and Senate. At this point in time asking for input is just one of the last requirements needed to finalize the implementation of the new system. Most likely all the information and comments obtained from this survey will be trashed and will not affect the implementation process in any way. Regardless of this, I feel that adopting the DoD into the NSPS is a big mistake which will not only affect the civilian government works but also the solider in the field. With all the problems in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and North Korea any changes that may possibly affect the support needs of the solider in the field should be placed on hold until such time that they can be closer scrutinized. The present system that we (government civilian employees) have survived under up until now, may not be the best, but it was designed to be as fair and equitable to everyone as possible, which is more than I can say for the proposed system. Again I feel that submitting these comments are futile, but on the outside change it may make a difference I am doing so. Tax Paying Voter
