My biggest concern is the evaluation process and the level of pay from year to year. Provided an employee performs to an acceptable level is there a chance the employee will receive less pay from one year to the next. Example: An employee receives an evaluation that sets the pay level for that year. The next year, through no fault of the employee (personality conflict between the supervisor and employee; different standards expected by the supervisor; etc.), an evaluation is written that could effectively lower the pay for that same employee. Would the employee receive less pay or would a cap be set that, provided performance remains at an acceptable level, will not lower from year to year. Wondering whether pay could be lowered from year to year would be, at a minimum, stressful to an employee. Are there any guarantees in place that would prevent this situation.
