Why is our Secretary of Defense trying to fix something that isn't broken. Our pay system has evolved out of a system that was very subjective to a system that is as fair and objective as it can be. I see the whole system as one that takes us back 20 years and makes it harder to work on an everyday basis. The proposed system will discourage new employees and encourage current employees to see how soon they can retire or leave for private industry. What I'm reading between the lines is my service to my country is not valued. I also see it as a pre-school mentality for rewarding the good little boys and girls (in the opinion of the teacher) and if the teacher doesn't like you, you will be punished. Please don't try to fix a system that works most of the time to the advantage of all. Don't compromise accomplishing our mission of providing for the Soldiers, especially those in combat.
