I am dismayed over the NSPS. It really addresses an archaic way of work, where people are not happy because of supervisor/management abuse. The good old boy syndrome will flourish. Morale will suffer. Backstabbing among employees will become a way of life for those who want to obtain the extra edge for recoginition. We may not even obtain the funding from congress to pay for a salary increase and/or bonus. Quality of Life, that the DOD is so interested in, will deminish over time. The sharade of the NSPS is to give the appearance that national security is the issue. Nothing has been shown to convince me this is true. This becomes a way where employees will be required to perform all facets of a job, whether related or not, and not be compensated for the additional work. Hours of work can be changed at the drop of a dime to meet the needs of a mission, because the DOD would rather spend to support a conflict than to provide funding for positions; therefore, work will suffer due to the increase of responsibility and the amount of work that will be thrown at the civil servant. Failure to perform according to supervior demands can result in the expulsion of the employee. I am not in aggreement with the NSPS. Congress should set aside the NSPS, and continue with the current system, which is not broke!
