Yet, once again, civilian employee of the DoD are feeling the brunt of political games. The pay system will not work, look at the current reward system. Favored employees receive monetary recognition, not because of effort to support the mission, but lunching with the boss. I've heard supervisors giving out awards because of family illnesses, temporary finacial setbacks, and paying off poker debts. Quite simply put, this is the system that you want me to believe in for my financial future? Maybe we should all line up at the white house for our block of cheese! The seniority revision is also upsetting. There are no guarantees that some future adminisration or management will deduce that it is cheaper to hire new employees and train them then to hold on to the expertise that years of experience has developed. But, if the new retirement system...getting fired...effects me, at least I'll have binding arbitration to turn to...er...ooops, that's right, the fox is now guarding the henhouse! Thank goodness a huge number of us will be able to retire in the next frew years...if we make it that long!
