Based on other groups who have gone from GS to pay banding, what is the multi-year result of pay banding comparred to GS Considering the work force as a whole does the hired labor cost change over the years? Has anyone considered multi-year effect of pay banding over GS system? Comparable analysis by discipline, annual COLA's, GS steps, etc. There is the concern that over several years, with pay banding it will be easier to supress total hired labor cost. Granted in both GS and pay banding poor performers should not get these guarenteed step increases. In tough federal spending times that we are going through, seems easier to supress hired labor cost with pay banding system. So my concern and question is, What is the multi-year effect of pay banding compared to GS sytem? Getting too much "potential for" type scenarios and answers on pay banding and not enough, if any, hard assurance of multi-year effects of pay banding. Many of my coworkers have the same concern. Thank you.
