I admit to not being savvy on all of the issues but the comments I have been hearing that would allow supervisors to determine advancement and pay increases deeply disturbs me. I fear that this opens the door to allow someone to promote based on favoritism and not job performance. I work in an area where there is an obvious line between individuals. I feel that in a system like the one proposed it would be a long time before I would receive a raise. I feel it would be necessary to compromise my ethical standards in order to receive a raise. I would not be able to become the type of person it would take to get a raise.
