I disagree with the implementation of the NSPS. You cannot have the same authority over civilian personnel as you have over the uniformed military personnel. You cannot restrict the power of the employee, which we now have and pass it on to someone else. Under this proposal, unfair treatment is sure to follow. We have sent our soldiers overseas to fight for democracy, but yet we want to put restrictions on DOD workers here is the United States. This will hurt the mission of the agency and cause conflict amongst the employees. Yes, there are things that need to change because he system is so outdated, but drastic changes right away will hurt the employee workforce. Flexibility: I was in the military and as a soldier I understand the mission and its requirements. I understand that since 911, the goals of security and the United States have changed and different objectives must be developed. Being executable is not as easy as it sounds. You may be flexible and executable within three days, but others as myself are not. Out of 700,000 employees, I’m sure you would be able to find qualified workers who would not mind being reactive at the drop of a hat to unique requirements.
