Step increase based on appraisals. This is rather unfair in that an appraisal is very subjective. It gives the supervisor the right to totally control a person's career and financial stability. This could cause a family hardship and even emotional stress outside of the workplace, which in turn is reflected in the workplace and the morale. It places too much power into one person's hands. Seniorty not counting on a RIF situation. This is unfair to a loyal emploee who has dedicated many years to the service of their country. Again it can be very subjective in that if a supervisor and a lower grade person have a dispute, whether right or wrong, the outcome of such a dispute can cause a person to be the brunt of revenge and vindictiveness. Again it places too much power into one person's hand and can be very much abused.
