The concept of having a range of shares for a given performance appraisal rating sounds good at first, but when one stops to think more carefully, one comes to the conclusion that this violates the equal pay for equal work ethic. An employer could have two employees doing the same job, starting out at the same pay level, and receiving the same performance appraisal rating, but each receives a different share amount.
