I have worked for the Federal Government for 24 years and participated in the Laboratory Demonstration Project. For the most part I don't have any strong objections to the pay bands. I just hope that they will separate the bands properly. Currently I'm lumped into the category of GS-5 thru 12. So when I tell someone I'm a DB-2, I could be anything from a GS-5 to a GS-12. How ridiculous is that! It's like saying that this group of people have the same expertise and time in their jobs and we know that's not true! It would be proper to break up the bands into GS-5 thru 7 and GS 9 thru 12.
