Please do not take away our employee protections. I have worked for the DOD for thirty years and I have had mostly bad supervisors--uneducated and promoted by the "in-house-buddy-system". As it is on Robins AFB, almost all grievances are rubber stamped "grievance denied" ; however, for important cases there is arbitration. That will gone. Rubber stamped all the way to the top. Incidentally, Robins AFB already has the highest suicide rate; I can't imagine how bad it will be when pay, promotion, deployment, removal--everything--is at the whim of the first-line supervisor. The idea of sending anyone to a depleted uranium waste heap makes me shudder. Is this President Bush's way of solving the Social Security situation? We have an aging workforce in the civilian sector, yet with NSPS our first-line supervisor who doesn't like the color of our skin, our personality, our gender, etc. can decide that we need to go or face removal. Please go back to the drawing board on this one.
