What I like about NSPS is the hiring process will hopefully be improved because the current system takes too long to bring employees on the base. In my current job, I applied in mid-Nov 2003 and was able to accept the position in mid-May 2004. The biggest disadvantage I see is that management will be given more authority. A large percentage of supervisors are having problems adjusting to their current authority. A great majority of them take the supervisor position because of the pay. Supervisors are not giving enough management and leadership training. They should be required to take all levels of professional military education in residence.
