My name is Gladys C. Towne, member of local 1764, Travis AFB, CA. I can't believe what NSPS is doing and can't believe that it has gotten this far. I don't make enough income as it is and I really can't afford a decrease in pay. I want to be able to challenge my performance rating to an independent arabitrator. We shouldn't have to kiss ass just to get along with our supervisor or get a good rating, it should be based on performance, but we know that won't happen if NSPS gets their way. I would like to negoatiate issues such as overtime, safety, and work schedule assignments. After 15 yrs, NSPS is making me feel like I have to prove myself all over again; I don't want a RIP. My husband and I have served our country well and I would like to be rewarded for all my efforts, not treated unfairly. I don't want my service to be worthless, now if your performance rating was all 9's and another supervisor (mainly military) comes along and gives you a 6 or 7 just because they don't like you or get along with you, you are letting them decide my destiny and that is not right. Military people go and come every 3 yrs, some competent, some very incompetent and that's who you want to decide my future. No one should have that much control over anyone. This is America and I feel like I'm living in another country where your voice does not count. I'm sure the people who are making these changes, certainly, are not the ones being affected by NSPS. I can't even believe that someone actually thought of this idea and implemented it, I'm in shock. No human being should have the right to be able to take away jobs from people who have worked so hard to get where they are today. The USA have troops in another country fighting for the rights of others and spending lots of money, and here we are in that same country (USA) fighting for our rights, a battle we fought years ago; must we continue to go backwards instead of going forward. Somebody needs to pray.
