Comment Identifier: Proposed “National Security Personnel System (NSPS)” Regulations (RIN 3206-AK76/0790-AH82 and Docket Number NSPS-2005-001) Reference: Sec. 9901.406 Setting and communicating performance expectations, Paragraph (b). In Paragraph (b), the last sentence currently is: However, notwithstanding this requirement, employees are always accountable for demonstrating professionalism and standards of appropriate conduct and behavior, such as civility and respect for others. This sentence needs to be have added to it the specification that supervisors and managers will also be held to this same level of accountability. Thus, it needs to instead be: However, notwithstanding this requirement, employees (along with supervisors and managers) are always accountable for demonstrating professionalism and standards of appropriate conduct and behavior, such as civility and respect for others. This addition is necessary because it is critical to always specify in regulations like these that supervisors and managers are always accountable for demonstrating the same high level of “professionalism and standards of appropriate conduct and behavior” that employees are accountable to demonstrate.
