Four years ago I left the private sector for the civil service for the job security it afforded and to get away from the pay for performance (bootlickers and relatives get promoted) ideals found in the private sector. By doing this I sacrificed retirment and health and dental benifits from the private industry for the security and promotion opportunities of the civil service.Under the new NSPS system these securities and opportunites are gone. The managers pets will get promoted and the rest of us are out in the cold. This is a hell of a way to reward the thousands of men and women in the DOD that volenteer to put their lives on the line in places like Iraq and Afganistan.
