NSPS Myths and Facts implies that job benefits will not be lost. As an engineer at Navsea, I was denied the job benefit of the Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). I requested the CWS day off in order to help care for a relative with a serious illness. I filed several greivances to retain CWS that were denied. Even though I was denied this job benefit, Navsea management was able to take full advatage of CWS while also receiving up to 20 hours of overtime pay per pay period.
