Agency: Department of Commerce, National Processing Center Docket ID: NSPS-2005-001 RIN #: 3206-Ak76 Subpart I -- Labor-Management Relations Section 9901.912 Determination of appropiate units for labor organization representation Part (a) As stated, "The Authority will determine the appropriateness of any unit. The Authority will determine in each case whether, in order to ensure employees the fullest freedom in exercising the rights guaranteed under this subpart..." The Authority will determine who can and who can not belong, instead of federal law stating these rights. The Department is now coming to the decision that they should be allowed to pick and choose who can benefit from these rights under the pretext that the emplopyees membership in a labor organization could threaten our national security. Many of thee union memebers stood proudly on 9-11 to make sure that our American was secure. They stood ready to help in any manner and realized at that time, that America was under attack and was proud to serve our government. Now this Department would like for the American people to believe that union membership could threaten our national security so that should give the Department the right to decide and remove this right from their employees. Because the employees and the Unions are not blindly believing in this new personnel system, we are now unAmerican because we are fighting to save our rights provided to us under current federal law. Please do not allow this Department to pick and choose the appropriateness of any of the units to belong to a labor orgainzation. Make this Department follow current federal laws.
