How will the four pay bands relate to military ranks? When I deployed to Iraq as a DOD GS-15 I wore a uniform and carried a weapon. My CAC card listed my rank as Col and I received the same billeting/staus as a Col. I also received Geneva Convention Category III status. The current 15 step personnel system provides military equivent ranks what will happen under a four band system? How does the military identify the GS15 emplyee under the four band system?
