In Tuesday's votes by the base-closing commission:

Bases added to the list for consideration of closure or downsizing:

-Naval Air Station, Brunswick, Maine. Initially slated by the Pentagon for downsizing, the commission voted to consider closing it altogether.

-Naval Master Jet Base, Naval Air Station Oceana, Va. Initially slated for downsizing, the commission voted to consider closing it altogether or further shrinking the base.

-Navy Broadway Complex, San Diego. Originally left off the Pentagon's list, the commission voted to consider closing the base.

-Pope Air Force Base, N.C. Currently on the list as a downsizing, the commission voted to consider closing it altogether or further shrinking the base.

-Galena Airport Forward Operating Location, Alaska. Originally left off the Pentagon's list, the commission voted to consider closing or reducing forces at the base.

The commission also added the following to the closure or consolidation list as it considers whether to merge administrative, education and medical facilities:

-Defense Finance Accounting Services: Facilities in Buckley Annex, Colo.; Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis.

-Professional Development Education: Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, Calif.; Defense Language Institute, Monterey, Calif.; Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

-Joint Medical Command Headquarters: Navy Bureau of Medicine, Potomac Annex, Washington, D.C.; Air Force Medical Command, Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C.; TRICARE Management Authority and Office of the Army Surgeon General, both in Virginia.

Bases the commission voted to keep off the list:

-Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego.

-Naval Shipyard Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

-Moody Air Force Base, Ga.

-Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D. Currently on the list as a downsizing, a vote would have changed the base's designation to closure or further downsizing.
